Soya Canberra: Donation to the Decani Relief Fund

Cheerfully inform you that the Serbian Orthodox Youth Group from Canberra presented its first Humanitarian Fund donate Decani Monastery on our Kosovo.

With contributions acquired during the night cafe organised last year as well as picnics on the monastery property, the group has allocated a sum of 1,000 Australian dollars for humanitarian assistance to the active fund.

The desire of all members of the group is to thank all the good people who attended the events organised by the group, and who allow their contributions to this fund help.

As a group, young people from Canberra wanted to primarily support the humanitarian action that is focused on helping the Serbs from Kosovo, which certainly do not want to forget and that we believe are not sufficiently represented in the Serbian community in Canberra.

Group members were informed by the President of the fund, Father Nektarios Serfesa, who is a priest of the Greek nationality that this donation will contribute to the operation that is currently underway and it is to provide scholarships for youth from Kosovo in order to attend college and to go to school despite financial difficulties.

Father Nektarios was founded by such funds in Kosovo this week sent 51'-the student in the school. Below is an excerpt quoted from a letter by Father Nektarios our group

"Dear Serbian youth from Canberra

God help!

Some are blessed by our Lord. On behalf of the Decani Humanitarian Fund, as President I would like to deeply thank you for your help Serbian youth from Kosovo. Your generous support in the amount of U.S. $ 863.60 (AUD 1000) will help our campaign to provide university education to students from Kosovo. This donation is a blessing.
I thank each of you on our love and plemenenitosti. I will pray to St. Sava and St. Stephen pray for you and be blessed by Christ. "

As a group of young and serious individuals, we value and appreciate the right to education and opportunities that exist for it in Australia, you also do not want to be denied the right of our brothers and sisters in Kosovo. In addition to scholarships, humanitarian fund Decani monastery also organises other activities such as providing food, clothing, medicines, books and other material things that are missing in Kosovo Serbian families.

Through the internet you can find out more information about this charity fund, and the ways in which you can personally support their actions. Visit the following websites: soyacanberra.com / www.kosovo.net/relief_fund.html

We are honoured that our work in the youth group can support the noble goals such as the above defined by the fund.

Thanks again to all who support us!

We welcome your words of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle, which this week moved to heaven: "Let us be men and not monsters, that our actions are not ashamed of our ancestors."
