Serbian Dveri in Canberra

Serb capital of Australia on Friday 19th March, 2010. , in the church hall of the parish church St. Sava, the Fareru, had the opportunity to attend cultural and educational events organised by the Serbian Orthodox Youth Association (SOYA Eng.).

The program started a documentary titled "Kosovo: Can you imagine?" By Boris Malagurski - Serbian from Canada.

The documentary was shown in theatres, by many major Australian cities and also by e-SOYA and revenues collected from the charts are intended to help the Serbian people in Kosovo, whose situation unacceptable in the 21st century.

Because of the small Serbian community in Canberra, Youth Association has decided to show the film as part of an introductory program that will later lead Mr. Bosko Obradovic, representative of the Serbian Parliament Dveri of Serbia.

Lecture in Canberra there was another in a series of successful, instructive, and during one-month visit oduševljavajućih Australia which members of organisations "Dveri Serbian" and "Our network" - Bosko Obradovic and Zoran Radojicic-rounded introduction to the Serbs in the meeting.

Topics of lectures and discussions that covered the lecture was the Serbian spiritual and national identity in the 21st century. G. Obradovic, among other things, reminded the Serbs may have truths themselves aware of and which have recently often avoided, suppressed or even rejected, whether from a lack of courage and desire to handle them or some other reason.

The young Serb pride - in the true sense of the word, inspired everyone and especially young people with positive views on the future of Serbian people if we as Orthodox as Serbs and as people strive to keep our ancestors footsteps ... to us they are not ashamed, as he often said His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle late.

The speech drew attention to the danger that threatens us as a people if we neglect and unwillingness to fight contribute to drown in the ocean assimilation and forget what makes us Serbs and what should be a glory to our religion, language, alphabet - Cyrillic, History and Culture .

The lecture is complete praise, comments and questions from the audience, after which he served meatless dining. With the blessing and prayer venerable Father Elias Dragosavljević Radoičić and Sasha, the guests continued the conversation and meeting with Mr.. Bosko Obradovic at the table. Voluntary contributions, which will be a contribution to Canberra Serb national appeal for aid to Kosovo Serbs, were collected at the end of dinner.

It is encouraging for the Serbian people in the homeland and the meeting that there is a group of young and ornih Serbs as members of the Serbian Parliament Dveri, and to lead them able men, such as Bosko and Zoran by Serbs in Australia accept with enthusiasm.

We will try to under-SOYA will support their work and apply their advice, giving support to the Serbs Australia what they provide their country, and keeping the Serbian religion, language, writing, history and culture. We hope that this gathering is just the beginning of a great friendship between Serbs in the homeland and the meeting, and a large and united struggle for the survival of the Serbian identity in the 21st century.

Hope Miljus
