'Kosovo: Can You Imagine?' in Melbourne
On Sunday 29 November, the Serbian Orthodox Youth Organisation of Melbourne organised the screening of "Kosovo: Can you imagine?" in the centre of town.
The documentary was filmed by a young Serb from Canada, Boris Malagurski, who after last year's visit to Kosovo and Metohija, felt a strong need to tell the world the story of those Serbs who remained in Kosovo to fight for their homes.
The turnout was very encouraging - tickets were sold out a couple of days before the premiere. With God's help, we hope that this enthusiasm will continue into future happenings and that non-Serbian Australians will also become more involved - it is the only way we can open the world's eyes. For those who have not yet seen the film we highly recommend you do so as soon as possible and support this young director in his work.
The reasons behind this gathering were various, from informing the Australian public about the violation of human rights of non-Albanian people in Kosovo, to promoting Serbian interests in Kosovo and Metohija and in the Diaspora. All proceeds from the premiere will be donated to the International Orthodox Christian Charity to help the children of Kosovo and Metohija.
